In and around La Conner and Mount Vernon, spring is in bloom!

The entire month of April the Skagit Flats turn into a migratory field for spring-welcoming tourists and lively locals enjoying the amazing color explosions on practically every field.

Mount Vernon and the surrounding towns - La Conner and Bow/Edison - are filled with options for dining, entertainment, arts, antiques and local experiences. Visiting the area at this time of the year is sure to leave you with one of the most colorful memories of the year.

And if you’re into photography like we are, you will have a difficult time deciding where to point your camera or what to focus on - flowering fields, misty mountains, lively streets, or always inspiring wildlife! It’s nesting season for bald eagles, blue herons, cormorants and other birds once again making them great subjects to go after. Fields can also be seen with the last of the snow geese flocks and some duck species like American Wigeons, Green Teals and even Pintails.

The fields around the Tulips are welcoming to all kinds of activities and wildlife, so plan a day or better a weekend to get the most out of this wonderful spot on the Puget Sound.
